Nothing wrong with writing for an audience of yourself. Taking a break from your other writing might refresh you with new ideas for publicly shared stuff. Or it might just be the area you'd rather focus on now. It's your hobby, enjoy it how you like!

This is me, except the fics for me are all in my head. I don't actually write them. But I don't spend time anymore writing actual fics, I just spend time with my head-fics.

I did this last year, it's really fun to let go and write something self-indulgent that only I'll see. There's no pressure and no expectations so it's enjoyable as hell.

Same, actually. I have a crossover that is just for me and it's all I want to write. I wonder sometimes if that's because I'm not getting enough response to my published pieces, and at least I'm not expecting anyone to say anything about a fic I'm not showing them.

I hear ya. I have private ideas for fics about my favorite musicians, including a pair that I've been secretly shipping for *decades*, but I love and respect them too much to actually write something and post it. Not to mention the fact that some of their close relatives follow me on Facebook...*gulps*

Is there, in fact, any RPF about folksingers out there somewhere? The precious little bandfic I've found can't seem to get beyond the Beatles and the Jonas Brothers...
