I cannot fathom how #5 is fandom.

I guess it depends on how you define it, but I don't think you can argue that religions generally have a dedicated following, regular gatherings, canon works they're centered around, fanfiction, fanart and even merch. Christianity certainly does.

You don't think people who meet weekly to discuss how the book they based their lives on, and have weird social rituals and sing-a-longs is fandom? Because, my friend, religion is the oldest fandom humanity ever had.
