9. WIIIIILSON. ♥ ♥ ♥!!

5. By looking at the comments here, I think I'm the only one who can actually agree to this. Sure, not everyone will be absolutely /perfect/ for who they're trying to cosplay, but some people really should just know what cosplays are good for them and which ones aren't.

What I don't think a lot of the previous commenters are taking into account is that there /are/ other characters people could cosplay. There are heavier characters, black/darkskinned characters, short characters, tall characters, etc. You just never hear about them because so much emphasis is put on the people cosplaying skinny light-skinned characters.

By all means, have fun. It's what cosplay is about. But, at the same time, know that if you aren't the right body type for a character, chances are, you'll end up on cosplayfucks or 4chan.

1. ...awww. That's so cute. ♥

7. Haha, I'm with a lot of others. Sex in general is gross. xD So, that's your opinion.

9. I see Squall. *A*

(Anonymous) 2007-04-05 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
3 is talking about either asweetermelody or hagiel

9.) I hate all of those characters except Charlie. =) I guess we're bitter enemies, what an awesome thing to be hated for!! I bet you're very intelligent behind the secret, babe.

7.) I can understand not being interested in it (Yuri interests me more than yaoi and het), but why not just ...not care for it? I don't understand being 'grossed' out by it. Either way it's two naked people grunting all over each other during sex, just one person has different bits (or the same).

5.) Lol wtfever no one can look like an anime character, they have little tiny mouths, huge eyes, and irrationally long legs half the time.

3.) Like what you want, baby!!

ANd by 3, I mean 4.

Lazy? Or just can't be arsed?

Can we all SAFELY assume you have a shit list the size of a New York City phone book? Not everyone's into what you're into. And to hate them on that basis.... just how big is your friends list anyway?

HAHA Emi I was gonna say the exact same thing.

Not quite alone. I agree completely.

Squall is the quintessential whiny emo kid. He's the reason I never beat that game. I just couldn't take his IDIOCY anymore.

Guess you hate me, then. :D

5. All right then! Find me a 6'1", pale, skinny, female anime character that ISN'T ridiculously well-endowed and DOESN'T dress in clothes consisting entirely of strings/imagination/clingwrap. Come on. Name ONE.

"Hate" as indeed "not interested in knowing." It's not like I have a real "shit list" as someone else has put it in these comments. They're just people I don't have any interest in getting to know. Hooray for someone getting it.
hughes: (chase has nothing on this guy;)

8. I'm trying to. Kinda. >_>

9. Wilson. :D <33333 And as far as the actual secret, yeah, sometimes I can be like that, but it depends on how someone presents their hatred--if they're polite about it and respect other people's opinions, or if they're really rude and inconsiderate. D: Or just like... act as if i shouldn't be a big deal, I guess. x_x

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
1) That is adorkable. Keep your friend innocent. :3

5) While some people should probably watch what they cosplay (i.e. if you're 500lbs. don't wear a costume with a thong, and if you're a pencil then don't cosplay a sumo wrestler), generally it should be FUN. Not everyone is that perfect size 10 with big gravity-defying boobs either. If we had to be perfect to cosplay... well, very few would.

7) .... I don't get it, but I'm more of a yaoi fan anyway, so... *shrug* Whatever floats your boat.

8) I think everyone wishes that. ;) I know I do.

who says it's a choice? it just happens

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 01:54 am (UTC)(link)

1. That's so cute. I have a fandom friend who's first language is Spanish and she does the same thing whenever commenting on my fanart/fanfic. It doesn't make you a bad friend.

5. I think you should at least make an effort to cosplay a character you can pull off. I wouldn't cosplay say ... er ... some character that looked blatantly Asian or crossplay as a character that looked really really male regardless of how much I liked the character. Or if you do want to cosplay a character that you can't easily pull off, at least make a strong effort to make it convincing with makeup or whatever other techniques you might need. There are a lot of characters out there that I absolutely adore that I know I couldn't cosplay and therefore I won't. Luckily, a good deal of my favourite characters or extensions of my favourite characters fall into the sphere of what I'd feel confident cosplaying. Yes, it's first and foremost for fun, but there's also an element of wanting to be as convincing as possible. I have friends who cosplay who are every body type and build and we all work with it.

8. Hehe. Totally.

(Anonymous) 2007-04-05 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
4. You're so not alone. ♥

5. I bet you're an ugly fatty who only posted this so others would disagree with it. You're going about getting your lame little ego boost assbackwards. Get over yourself.

8. Put some effort into it and you very well could. Become an artist/animator, write scripts/direct movies, whatever. I know it sounds cheesy, but if you practise enough to get good and stick with it, you'll catch a break eventually. I'm a good example: I work in the video game industry in a fairly "high end" position. It took over 10 years of dedication, I've been through some incredibly shitty lows, but hey, I made it. I now have my dream job. =)

9. Me too. Especially those fantards that devote entire "anti" shrines to characters they hate, and write those lolarious diatribes in their emo journals about how much they OMG HAET!!!111 so and so from whatever fandom. I personally think it's pretty damn sad when anyone obsesses over imaginary people to that degree... Become a politician or activist or something, do something useful with that passion instead of making yourself look like a flaming moron.

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 01:58 am (UTC)(link)

Yeah, you should definitely trying to pick a character and an outfit to compliment you regardless of weight and build. Really skinny people shouldn't cosplay certain characters, whereas those with a larger build shouldn't cosplay others. It's about fun, but people should make an effort to be as good as they can be at something. My only gripe with cosplay are the people who don't even try at all, they just grab stuff from their closet and toss it all together and call it cosplay. Effort counts more than anything and usually if you're going to take the time to put effort into something, you're not going to be selecting a character that you can't successfully pull off.

(Anonymous) 2007-04-05 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Grow up" is the catchphrase of all people who possess the emotional maturity of 6 year olds.

Don't spread the hate. ~_~

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 02:04 am (UTC)(link)

Yeah, people just don't want to bother with selecting characters they can cosplay well. It applies to everyone regardless of whether they're considered attractive, thin, overweight, what have you. There are going to be characters that some should cosplay and others that they should not. Liking a character's design doesn't mean you should automatically cosplay that character.

It is all about fun, but my eyes as well as the eyes of others really don't need to see another 350 lb Gunner Yuna.

(Anonymous) 2007-04-05 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
5: Wow, way to jump to conclusions, and strange ones at that. Can't someone be a straight-up ass any more without people thinking they're somehow sideways searching for ego boosts? I don't need an ego boost. I'm arrogant enough to mean that secret. I wouldn't cosplay someone that looked nothing like me because I know I'd end up looking ridiculous, but some people do, and they look terrible.

[identity profile] klytaemnestra.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 02:06 am (UTC)(link)

Squall is a woebag. ::snerk.::
