I agree with most of this, but I still think cosplay should be about having fun. As long as you're not falling out of your costume (remember, indecent exposure is against the law in most countries!) there shouldn't be a problem.

Although if you ARE morbidly obese, for the sake of your health, you should attempt to lose weight. And if you're anorexic or have any other eating disorders/body dismorphia/whatev, seek help. :(
