(Anonymous) 2023-10-04 12:29 am (UTC)(link)We’ve been maintaining around the same level of engagement for YEARS. And the secret makers are a huge part of the community’s endurance, we’d be lost without them or Case. But you’re kidding yourself if you think that if people engage the way you want them to, FS will magically explode with activity.

(Anonymous) 2023-10-04 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)I've been here since 2010 and I agree 100%. The main problem is demographic.
We're not really getting new users (sometimes we do, but it's pretty rare) and the people who were active during the "golden era" either found new places to hang out, are not in fandom any more or are busier now.
I do believe the medium age here is probably 30-35 years old and it is pretty old compared to other fandom spaces. This format is not how young people do fandom nowadays.
UHM Yeah, I'm old lol
I just want to add that lately we've been having a minimum of 100 comments almost every day. It's not bad for a DAILY community where a lot of people sometimes just lurk due to arriving late.
F!S is not in its prime, but it's still alive and kicking.
