Rivers of London. I’m reading The Hanging Tree at the moment.

And I’d love to blab about how much I enjoy this series of books. But the people I live with have little to no interest in any kind of fantasy.

Thankfully, one of my part-time flatmates lets me go on about the books. I know she wouldn’t actually enjoy them, but she’ll listen to me talk about what I like. And she actually asks questions or offers other examples!

My other flatmates don’t manage to engage at that level. (Even when I try to do the same for their personal interests.)

I've read the first book and enjoyed it! Is the series complete or still ongoing?

I believe it’s still ongoing. I know there are graphic novels in the works, but not completely sure about actual additional books.

Still, if you enjoyed the first book, I whole-heartedly recommend continuing on. And especially trying the third book. (I had a little annoyance around the second one, but found that it was resolved as I continued.)

Hey fellow Rol fan! I am open to landing an ear. I love Peter so much. 💔 I think he is the most character I ever related to and I am white, afab and not British. :'D

Also going to ramble that I hate comic series though - their plots vary greatly and art is... not good

Yes! I feel like he’s exactly how I would react upon realising that magic was real. And his general curiosity regarding various subjects.

As the books continue, I love how he pursues his attempt at a scientific method in the face of apparently supernatural weirdness.

I adore his curiosity. I've seen people saying that he is not realistic because he knows so much different things for a working class cop and 1)just wow 2)also I am a person who would read a fucking plaque

Also I love how Peter is so natural at networking, he genuinely likes people
