Re: How far into a book/show/game/movie before you DNF?
(Anonymous) 2023-10-06 12:28 am (UTC)(link)The only time I've ever deviated from this was for Princess Tutu and I still maintain that the first half of each season of that show sucks absolute ass but that the second half of each season is PHENOMENAL and I have deeply mixed feelings on the whole show as a consequence.
For a book, I'll probs finish reading it unless it's unspeakably bland. Like, if I hate it, I'll still probably finish it. I hate read the entirety of Wicked Lovely because the premise was interesting but the execution was SO VERY SKEEVY. I did not read the rest of the series. I also read the entire Twilight series despite all the UGH about those because a) I wanted to be able to participate in all the discourse and b) A lot of her story is utterly terrible but at the very least Meyer's writing style is engaging. I was never bored, even though the story and characters were awful.
For a game, you get one session (probs about three hours) and then, if I don't come back, it's over.
