LA One Piece. As a longtime OP fan, I was cautious, and apparently for good reason. It was LOTR Movie vs Book Purist all over again.

Also, aren't the (original) LOTR movies universally beloved and highly regarded even by book fans? I'm not sure what the comparison is supposed to mean.

Van Helsing. I know it's been around for almost two decades now, but I'd only seen bits and pieces before and finally sat down to watch the whole thing. I didn't think it was going to be a great movie, but I did think it was going to be the fun kind of bad for me. It was not (and I liked The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). It was a mistake for me to watch. I almost stopped it several times but carried on. And I am honestly not sure what they were trying to do with it.
