Philosophy is a topic that people can and do major in on a lot of college campuses. Lots of people get degrees in it, meaning they are trained in it. It's not unheard of. I majored in philosophy and wrote a philosophy thesis and gave an oral defense. You can go into the school library and check out my work... So...I have to wonder why you think everyone is lying. It doesn't reveal good things about yourself...

Ahhh, you're a genocide apologist. And you're probably talking about me. I think I'm the only philosopher here, or at least the only one who admits it. No one who majored in ethics would say rape is "justified" full stop. Having said that, there is no absolute morality. I can come up with tons of counterfactuals off the top of my head where rape would be the most morally acceptable outcome. It happens in fic all the time, like the fuck-or-die trope. So you can take your moralizing hand wringing and fuck right off. Leave the ethical philosophy to the professionals.

Among the two of us, one would like to see neither Israelis nor Palestinians killed. One is critical of both Israel and Hamas, and sees the unfolding of an endless cycle of vengeance. One thinks that murder, rape, and genocide are wrong, no matter who commits them.

That person is not you. You think it's okay to do terrible things to certain people, and you hide behind a degree in order to justify it.

If ever there comes a time when the two of us are faced with the choice between committing atrocity and declining to do so, you are the one of us who is more likely to choose to commit it.
