This. The taboos surrounding incest all have to do with things such as fears of genetic issues involved with inbreeding (a legitimate concern) or issues of power dynamics when family is involved.

Having sex with an alternate version of oneself/a clone/what-have-you involves none of the above.

NAYRT but I guess in the kind of superhero, science that might as well be magic exists alongside actual magic setup that the MCU has, an "identical in all but gonads so they could actually reproduce via sex" set of twins or clones could be a thing, even if Sylvie/Loki (or Loki/gator Loki) isn't that thing, but in that case presumably magic birth control would be deployed to prevent super-inbred Lokispawn.

Technically a hypothetical child would just be genetically another Loki, wouldn't it? Cloning with extra steps.

AYRT—I don't remember enough about the genetic reshuffling that goes on re: gametes to know if it's possible to end up with a non clone in that situation, but I'm mostly thinking of the kind of genetic recombination fuckups that are fine with one dodgy copy of a gene but fatal or shitty with two, and I think that would still be possible? It's not like every gamete a person produces is identical.
