I love how they joked about that exact same thing on The Nanny while hiding Lauren Lane's pregnancy there.

Agreed, A+ image choice. Especially since it was an entire scene of them mocking the trope (big coat, carrying conspicuously large plants and bags across the room, all while talking about how stupid it was to watch them hide Julia Louis-Dreyfus's pregnancy on Seinfeld), with the "Baby" sign not being an easter egg but an explicit nod to the ridiculousness of the situation.
