I read RPF as well and I had to stop posting what I thought were amusing “look at this hug def shagging”(they were more amusing than that! Like puns on their names sort of thing) because many people didn’t get the jokes. (The last time was in a sports fandom when they were literally hugging in a game, in front of twenty thousand people including their wives and children).

Some people do not get any tongue-in-cheek jokes about this type of thing. It's always so weird to me when they go on and on about celebs hugging each other. Or looking at each other. Really, showing and sort of affection or attention to each other. And then it gets to the point where if they aren't doing it, it's apparently a cover up, that the mean PR people are trying to pull off. It's actually quite disturbing how far some people will twist things to fit into their own (imagined) narrative.
