Lately I have been finding more fiction that adheres fairly close to real life. And of course I tend to prefer non-fiction.

Then what are you even doing in fandom if you don't like fiction?

The last I checked, fandom involves various forms of media that are non-fiction. I like to hang out in that part of fandom. (It's also why I recommend Marianne Zapata's works; her settings actually toe the line of non-fiction the way she develops them.)
