Re: Anyone else have friend groups that don't latch onto things as hard as you?

Most of my friends don't latch on as hard as me.

And NGL when I get a friend latch on hard to a thing, whenever I try to squee with them or bond over a shared interest they tend to ignore me and find other people to enjoy the thing with. I've wondered if I send out a sort of energy people don't like when I am super into a thing so I generally don't really connect with people over a thing anymore.

I've wondered about this too, and had a similar experience. I guess in my case, I was so used to squeeing over stuff online and it's hard to be excited IRL and not be cringy about it. Maybe people sensed I was holding back or hiding the true extent of my excitement for the thing, and possibly thought I was fake or shady somehow. (I'm working on that though, hoping 2024 will be my year of authenticity... or the start of it, anyway.)
