I would read that, but probably argue with you. He is such a hatstall, and it would be between every one of the other houses. Though I do think he is ambitious in certain ways and cunning, I believe that his ready mind and passion for learning; his loyalty, patience, and work ethic; and his bravery and chivalry far outstrip those.

I feel like it changes during the course of the show. Early series Daniel and Daniel towards the end of the show seem like fairly different people.

Well, I think he hardens some as time goes on, becoming more world-weary, some of his idealism falling away for pragmatism, but not all. And, honestly, I feel like his loyalty, bravery, and thirst for knowledge are there throughout, even if they may be expressed differently. I also think he's stubborn AF all the way through, but his priorities shifted several times.
