It's a tossup whether I'll cry at a movie. I actually did cry during Everything Everywhere All At Once (and made a huge effort to hide it from my husband, as he would have likely been very worried). I'd just heard that most people cried at the end of this movie and found myself baffled when I didn't.

I'm not well-versed in Narnia to comment on that.

For Pratchett, though, I always felt it was because his own end was coming. It was his way of processing it--and helping his fans process it.
