Honestly this person has been picking fights on here for ages and I'm starting to believe they're the sort of person who kept getting blocked on places like tumble for having their 'more valid than everyone else' opinions.

Listen, I realize the school system failed you, so you might not recognize what we call an idiom. I don't blame you for that.

Anyway, what was meant by "poke the beast" (or if you prefer, "poke the bear") is the fact that you're deliberately provoking somebody to anger. It doesn't really matter whether or not you've accomplished that, you're the one in the wrong and will get no sympathy or support from the rest of us.
