New Star Trek, even on TV with less lens flare, is particularly bad for this.

I think it's because "visually busy" indicates modernity and urbanised areas and the technology to make this cheap and easy to do is now here. Personally, I hate it - I don't even like going to a real city because it's so visually busy and tiring to look at! Who allowed video billboards on major roads???

Personally, I like it. It looks more real to me. Lived in, active, like the world. I'm a city girl at heart. Coruscant is my favorite Star Wars planet.

I think visually busy works better for fantasy. Stuff like The Owl House where you keep seeing strange and unexpected things.

Generally disagree.

I do think that a lot of modern SF stuff looks really bad. But it's not because it's too busy.

I like busy/messy sci-fi, personally. Feels alive and I love seeing all the lights. Non-busy, clean, sci-fi mostly opts to have an all white/beige, which I really dislike.

SA

Just noticed I forgot to place "...opts to have an all white/beige Minimalism..."
