I still love the actual sinking: the filmography, the special effects, the chaos of the extras. All very well done and still holds up to this day.

I made a "just the sinking" cut. I kept only the plot points that show the effects, both physical and social, of the sinking; it starts just when the lookouts see the iceberg. It's still 58 minutes long.

As someone who has never seen the movie bit has a very specific fear/recurring nightmare about being on the titanic as it sinks (and usually end up drowning) this is hilariously specifically horrifying to me.

That's awesome, I do like the movie as a movie but I mostly enjoy it because I have a special interest in shipwrecks and agree that the sinking sequences are very well done.
