You know what's bananas?

(Anonymous) 2023-11-29 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
There are people that sleep straight thru the night without waking up multiple times. What must their life be like.

Agreed. My mom can fall asleep in a couple of seconds flat any time she's tired. She'll just fall asleep in her chair.

Meanwhile, I have both issues going to sleep (takes me at least an hour) and staying asleep (wake multiple times and then if fully awake takes another hour to be back asleep).

I have to go to bed by 8-9 just to get a normal 7-8 hours with waking up around 7. And I take sleep meds.

Exhausting. It’s fucking exhausting. Physically and mentally. The only issue I have is anxiety can trigger insomnia. I’m talking clinical insomnia that verges on dangerous. But I’ve had that since infancy and these days sleepless nights are rare because I have a solid toolkit for clearing my mind and falling asleep. A white noise machine helps a lot, so does CBT.

Hahaha, oh yes. Middle of the night last night, my cat climbs between my legs and promptly starts grooming herself. Of course kicking me repeatedly as she does so. Because cat.

LOL

We took in the feral that came with our property but our dog is feline aggressive so she has to be separated. The only room we had for that was my room and I lasted three months before making the basement lounge my new room 😂 I think I slept 4 hours total in three months.

Wish I knew what that was like. Woke up at two last night and didn’t start getting sleepy until six, which is when my alarm goes off.

Yeah I can do it. I usually sleep through the night, it's nice.
Thanks to that not everyone believe that I have mental health issues ahahaha. And sleeping through the night doesn't save me from constant low energy.

There's a family somewhere that only needs 4 hours sleep and it's biologically adequate. A gene mutation or something iirc.

I get so jealous every time I think about them.

Young, their life is young. Don't worry, that'll change.

I'm lucky that usually I wake up only once.
Also, lately I've been falling asleep more easily. It took me more than an hour a few years ago and now it's more like 5-15 minutes.
I attribute this to therapy. I'm way less stressed now. I feel way better all around.

They're either under 16 or severely dehydrated.

Neither are things I want to be ever again but BY GOD what I wouldn't give for that power.
