Playing Spelling Bee Unlimited. I'm in the living room, and my mother is watching a country concert, so have ear plugs in. Going to bed soon, really tired. So just playing a mindless game.

Weeknights when the post goes up later I’m usually doing end of day stuff. 8 pm starts the bedtime hour for the pets in my house, so tonight I’ve been giving Churu, refilling all three water dishes in the cat’s room because she is a bottomless pit for water, taking dogs out to pee, giving medicines and treats, turning off lights, that sort of thing. I also do the final clean in the kitchen and get ready for bed even though I don’t go to bed until like 10 or 10:30.

I'm working on generating stuff for a new setting. I do find myself occasionally using the assistance of Chat GPT for an idea generator if nothing else, it comes up with fascinating stuff for aspects of worldbuilding I can't grasp as well (it took me the longest time to comprehend the essay Ken Liu wrote to define Silkpunk)
And I'm making a doc of it to organize notes to heavily edit later. It's a fun thing to do with my evening cup of coffee.

I'm on my nightly post-work ramble around my neighborhood and just heard a great-horned owl, but my eyesight sucks so I didn't spot it in the pine tree it was in.

Gonna go back to reading an ebook until I get home, put on my new Sandman blu-ray (it just came out today, yay for physical media!) and risk life and limb levering my cat's mouth open to give her her third (of 20) antibiotic doses via syringe. The vet did the first and I think I mostly got the second in this morning, but the vet had to bust out the Hannibal Lecter muzzle for her and oh god I have to stick my hand in the pointy death trap.

And then clean the abscess next to her ass that the antibiotics are for. Ugh, I hope it's not cancer but also ugh, ass abscess. Even the non-cancerous version is as far from fun as it's possible to be.
