I hated Ms Marvel and Brie Larson and don't know the other two girls. Also looks like social activism. I think I'm a fairly typical movie goer so here it is. The only thing is wrong with Marvel is casting unlikable actors and preaching on social justice. They need to do what they do in comics and make a different continuity movies and stop hiring unexperienced directors.

Celebrity culture has always been bullshit, but it’s only gotten worse over the last decade where the public has decided to elevate random strangers opinions just because they’re famous. Like it’s cool when they support and help charities, more for themselves than any ego thing on my part it’s just nice to know lucky people are giving back sometimes, but I don’t look to them to be the forefront of opinions on current political affairs because to frankly be mean: a lot of celebs are fucking dumb and the really rich ones are completely out of touch with what us average folks go through, even the nice ones, fame and money just… skews your perception of reality over time, social media has shown me this extensively over the years.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be disappointed if some celeb is supporting fucked up stuff, because I’d be more than disappointed in my real life friends if they supported some rapist or thought genocide was okie dokie, but I also don’t overly care about their opinions either. Idk man, they’re strangers I just don’t expect much from them?

THIS SO MUCH. Reading through Pillars was a slog and a trainwreck at that. If it HAD been about building medieval cathedrals instead of the godawful torture one of the female characters goes through in the tiniest detail (and us along with her), then it would have been cool. But the men were boring and I couldn't stomach how the women were treated. This has nothing to do with "historical accuracy" and everything to do with sloppy, lazy, uninspired, clichéd writing.

I had never read Follett before this; now I will probably never give other books of his a try.
