ehh, I'm well off but my anxiety and bad health keeps me inside most days. Also taxi is often be cheaper than owning a car in my neck of woods. Not that I'm able to get a lisence. Look at your friend as someone who can potentially help you with money.

I also have anxiety, periods of phobias and boosts of depression/low energy on top. It sucks omg.
For us taxi is a more fancy way (but less expensive than having a car), I live in a big city with a decent public transport.
I think I really just should focus on what I can do to get better and not fixate on other people's better life, ahahaha
