My workplace is moving over to a new rewards system so all the current points I've accumulated will expire at the end of the year. So I spent hours today combing through the offerings to see what I could spend my points on that wouldn't be junk I'd never use and then throw away.

I did! I decided since it was gonna be free to try out a wireless charger for my phone and a motion activated trash can, since I hatehatehatehate opening up the trash. I make my wife do it. When I showed her the motion activated trashcan, I swear she had hearts in her eyes.

Wasted almost all day in the DMV because I'm trying to get my driver's license updated to Real ID in case I have to take a plane somewhere. I was told the copy of my birth certificate was no good because it isn't certified. I'm a US citizen but I was born in Japan (my father was in the air force) and you have to have it certified where you were born!

The birth certificate struggle is so frustrating. I have a state issued one but I've still run into trouble because it wasn't the correct state issued one and then my birth state, which I do not live in, says you have to request it in person for a new or different copy.

Ugh that’s so frustrating! I was adopted so I know the struggle. My birth certificate was issued when I was four and there is zero chance of getting a certified one. I can’t even get an uncertified copy because the courthouse where it was filed burned down like 35 years ago.

Right now, I am finally, at last, getting to the bottom of something that's been confusing me for the better part of a year:

It's not Halle Berry. It's Halle Bailey.

I've been like, "the fuck is going on? Why is Halle Berry suddenly 30 years younger and completely different looking?? Are they CGI'ing her face??? HOW IS NO ONE OFFENDED????"

But I understand now. It's Bailey, not Berry. I have been misreading it this whole time, like a goddamn jackass.

That confused me at first too. Their names are too similar, including the spelling of Halle.

Her parents wanted to name her Hailey, but given their last name, they decided to go with Halle instead.

Hi, this is Anon from last week who can't tell the difference between Tom Holland and Tom Hollander. And, yeah, the two Halles have tripped me up ever since Bailey was announced as The Little Mermaid.

Still feeling the growing pains and discomfort of transitions at work. Add dumbass problems that keep popping up with no apparent solution. Ugh. Sometimes I just want to scream STOP BOTHERING ME I HAVE DONE ALL THAT I CAN AND EVEN GOT OTHERS INVOLVED but I can't because that's shitty customer service.

little sleep last night, stressful work day. Then went to get my tires rotated and found out my battery needs changing. Argh. Also, I have the dentist at 7:30 tomorrow, which means getting up earlier than usual.

Also, as a woman, even though I can't actually have kids, I'm well and truly terrified of the state I live in. It is very clear that women's lives don't matter to the people in charge around here.
