I realize I could have worded this better. I don't subscribe to particular fics. I am talking about checking a character or pairing tag.

oooh, got it. okay yeah that would and has made me sad (i save character/pairing tags similarly to you).

You can get an RSS reader, though! It's perfect for slow tags like that, you get the joy of finding out there's new fic in the tag without the sadness of seeing that, for the 20th month in a row, there's no fic.
