Do you have a "bedtime"?

(Anonymous) 2023-12-21 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
I try and have lights out at 10pm and usually get up between 6-7:30 depending on the day. My friend says this is weird and they just "go to bed when they're tired" and have no idea when that could be. If I didn't give myself a time for lights out I'd have no consistent sleep and could (and did) stay up all night and start living off of 2hrs of sleep. Which is just physically and mentally unhealthy.

Usually between 9 and 10 for going to sleep. I get up between 6:45 and 7:15. If I don't go to bed then, I won't get enough sleep given my sleep issues. So I have to be consistent.

I need routine. I’m in bed by 9:30 and up at 5 every day. I love my quiet early mornings all to myself. If I don’t have a routine, I can’t fall asleep and will go through a months long stretch of extreme insomnia and my anxiety will get unbearably worse.

10pm. I would stay up all night if I didn't have a schedule.

Nope, I too just go to bed when I'm tired. Some nights that's early, some nights that's later. I figure my body knows what it needs when it comes to sleep so if I'm feeling tired at 8 PM, it's time to hit the hay.

I go to bed when I’m tired, which is usually around midnight or one in the morning. Any earlier and I’m just in bed feeling frustrated because I can’t sleep.

In bed by 7:30, where I read or play switch Lights off by 9:30. I get up at 6:15am. On weekends, I do go to bed when tired.

I'd totally do what your friend does if I didn't have a job and obligations the next day, but... yeah, I do, so I try to get to bed 8-9 hours before whenever it is I have to get up.

I tend to go to bed around midnight or later, or earlier if I'm tired. I don't see anything weird about having a bedtime though.

I'd love to do that thing where people split their sleep and do it midday or afternoon, and then night. Too bad work won't allow for that.

My sleep schedule has been screwed since 2012. on a good night I go to bed between 12-3am, otherwise 4-6am and getting up between 8am-9am depending on what I'm doing that day unless I get to sleep in.

I try to start my bedtime routine around 9pm and I'm lucky to be lying down by 10pm.

Having a routine helps, but it's really hard to keep to when no one can "make" me. I can easily stay up till 2am if I'm interested in something.

it's usually closer to 1

I aim for 11:00 unless I have nothing to do the next day and a book or fic to ignore my bedtime for, or (much more rarely) a long play or musical to go see. Usually I'm up by 7:00. I don't always manage 8 hours of sleep, but if I consistently get lots less, I feel shitty.

I typically go to bed anywhere from 10 pm to midnight. Sometimes earlier if I feel sick. I'm a real night owl and I just feel like night is when my brain is most alive.

I don't have lights out but I have routine. I go to sleep around midnight usually.

About eight and a half hours before I need to get up for work, or when I am too tired to keep my eyes open. Whichever comes first.

I try to go to bed about 8 hours before I want to wake up in the morning. Sometimes that works, sometimes that doesn't. But I know plenty of people who are more regimented than that. There's nothing wrong with having a bedtime!
