This is a bit of a weird take to me. I’ve never considered Band of Brothers as being a patriotic series, partly because of its basis on real people and events, partly because of the inclusion of commentary by the people it’s about, and partly because they’re never depicted as flawless or infallible. It’s less about the war between countries and more about the bonds formed under extreme circumstances. Easy Company was unique in some ways but the bonds, the fear, confusion, anger…all of that is common in militaries around the world through the span of recoded history.
