We don't need to compare Taylor Swift to Bob Dylan...like...that's a weird ass fucking comparison to make.

Not at all to put one artist on a pedestal over the other.

IMO Taylor's career is worth looking at with more nuanced lens than "Taylor's newest/best albums have a folksy feel to them so let's compare her to Bob Dylan, the most well known artist to make folk music".

Like, IDK. We don't need to use Bob Dylan's name evoke "serious artist" vibes. I used to be a big Dylan fan but hearing about him being a gross predator...not surprising but also a reminder that not all great artists deserve to have their legacy carried on as something brilliant and sacred.
And to compare a huge star like Taylor Swift to Dylan continues to mystify the name of Bob Dylan, letting his artistry wash over the flawed man who got away with his shit behavior because his music is "just that great".
