Well, looks like we're going to need to find a new cat sitter. Came home and couldn't find the cat anywhere in the house. Even shaking the treat bag didn't bring her. Glanced outside and saw her in the backyard. She's not allowed out there, only on the porch.

there weren't any holes in the porch screen, so the only thing we can figure is that she snuck past the sitter as the sitter left. But the sitter never called us. And she must have left early because the kitty's breakfast isn't touched.

I'm glad kitty was in the backyard. Could have been much worse. But still angry.

Man, it's gonna take serious effort to not (virtually) deck a director tomorrow. This idiot decided to block around 300 sales reps from ordering and called for the wrong type of block in the ordering system. He had this change implemented the Thursday before Christmas, and my team fielded angey/confused emails from the affected reps the next day. To make matters worse, the change effectively wiped out almost all of the information for the sales reps, so sale rep order placement still isn't working right.

Nrgh today better not be a harbinger of how my year's gonna go, because ugh.

Was woken up by horrible cat fight sounds but didn't see anything. Then neighbor's cat showed up with a gnarly foot injury that looked like a back paw was sliced open lengthwise. Tried giving him food while I went to grab a carrier; he didn't eat it and disappeared. Considering he still ate with a giant abscess on his face, which I took him to the vet for because idk, his owners don't let their cats inside so they hadn't seen him in months...

Dropped my breakfast in my blankets.

Tripped into broken glass and mud while pulling weeds and fucked up my dominant hand and arm. Knocked over full container of laundry detergent into the washing machine while trying to treat mud, blood, and grass stains on my skirt.

Dumped detergent soaked blanket in my bathtub after attempts to wring it out just covered me in detergent.

Left muddy trail through the house when carrying sopping blanket back to washing machine, also soaked my clothes and shoes.

I just hope the gallon of vinegar I dumped in my tub and washer stops bubblepocalypse from fucking up my washing machine and plumbing.

And that the neighbor's cat made it home and they get him vet care and don't just ignore it or put him down, and that he's not hiding in the bushes or dead somewhere.

So for people saying that I am being absolutely unprofessional for ditching a client for writing me on a major holiday.
They couldn't pay me last two weeks the enormous amount of 50$ total. Our money are absolute shit, but rent there I live is around 500$/month +utilities for a small one room flat. So excuse me for being angry and unprofessional at people who can't pay me even 10% of a rent but want 24/7 service.

It is 2024. It is probably mostly psychological, but things already feel different, better. Going to be a super busy week because I have a big court hearing on wednesday. But I have a good feeling about it.

I'm being lazy today, but I made a new (new to me anyway) tea flavor this afternoon, black honey rose, which is iced black tea with honey and rose flavor, and its my new favorite. I thought it might be too sweet but no! The honey compliments the rose perfectly. Yummy!

Took down all the Christmas stuff (lights, decorations, tree, etc.). Now, I'm doing my quarterly computer backup. I feel productive, but boring.

My husband and I went to the zoo today. It was pretty busy but generally manageable. I think (aside from overtired young children) pretty much everyone there was in a good mood, which helped.

The new year got off to a great start. My mother argued with me after dinner- and it was not even 24 hours after I prayed that things with her would be calmer this year.

Still enjoying the mellow side of Youtube fandoms on AO3 (found the perfect mid-size fandom with plenty of old fics to read while seeing a few new fics posted every few days - including my own. Its the first fandom I've ever written so much for in my entire time of being online in 10 years lol).
Also Adventure Time/Fionna and Cake, Star Trek and Naruto on Tumblr for the fanart, fan theories and memes.

Still reading Teen Wolf fic since there's just so much of it that I haven't run out yet. Not in the fandom though (if it even still exists).

Zero Day (2003). It's a film about two teens documenting their plans to shoot up their school. It's honestly really a beautiful movie and I'm sad that it's so niche, but at the same time I like having a small community for it.

BBC Ghosts! Show just ended and I stay fully in the Ben Willbond part of the fandom, but it's a pretty good show and a pretty good fandom (if not quite young).
