I just learned about this and honestly there has not been a phrase or word that set me off in such a way in forever. Thank god none of my fandom circle uses this dumb term.

I'd wager you had to be there (on tumblr) when the word came to widespread usage. In the context of the post that coined it and the site culture that popularized it, it's a perfectly cromulent word. Running into it outside of its natural habitat feels a bit jarring even to a seasoned tumblrina like myself.
