There are quite a few c-dramas I enjoyed, but Nirvana in Fire was my first and I feel like nothing has reached it so far. Haven't seen either of those two.

That's been my experience, too. NiF was very political, technically there was a romance but it's not the main focus. It's not even the sub-plot. The plot was a slow burner revenge plot. Closest I can think of is Rise of the Phoenixes but I didn't enjoy that and IMO the plot wasn't as well done as NiF.

Oh wow, yeah these two are... nothing like NiF or TU lol, I even like Ashes of Love but I wouldn't rec it to people who were after something like NiF, it's not the same genre at all.

Nothing is like NiF. Just embrace some aspects of it.
BL? Till Death Tear Us Apart, Guardian, etc.
Actors? The Eagle Shooting Heroes, When A Snail Loves, Unbeatable, etc.
Same producers and actors? The Disguiser.
Polical intrigue? The Advisors Alliance.

Wait, is NiF actually (based on) BL? I never watched it because I was under the impression it was another show with het only romance.
