Too much of the fandom has been doing every conceivable thing possible to kill any enjoyment in participation (unless you're a fan of the main pairing), and a nearly equal amount just accept and go along with the in fandom lying that encourages more bullying/harassment (done under the guise of activism).

Yeah this.
It's not a new thing in fandom. But OFMD fans somehow just take the flag (har har) and run with it. I enjoyed first season well enough but couldn't even start the second season. Fandom somehow made me cringe too much even about just watching a show.
