Considering this is the first I heard that the game is finally playable, I think it would have been an insurmountable challenge for them to program that in. But I can totally understand being upset that they didn’t anyway :(

It's been playable for awhile. It's the perfect time to jump in and try it out.

The game's been playable for years now. The launch was terrible, yes, but they fixed things faster than detractors would have you believe. And we're now on the other side of 2.0, a huge skill tree and economy overhaul that went very well; and there's a well-received DLC, too.

I hate this type of comment. Unless you were trying to play it on an underpowered PC or a previous gen console, it was playable on launch.

Eh. It was still a damn expensive game for older consoles and I still think people had the right to be mad it didn't work well on them. Just... don't release it full price for previous gen consoles if you have reasonable doubt it will perform well just to be greedy and then go all shocked Piachu when people who forked over 70+$ for an unplayable mess are displeased about it.

It was released for previous gen consoles, though, making it a reasonable assumption on the part of consumers that it would be compatible with them. The fact that it didn't work correctly on them at launch is absolutely reason to be critical about its playability.

Other big, anticipated next-gen titles released previous gen versions over the past few years without issues, making it even worse.
