not great

(Anonymous) 2024-01-30 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I am in such a bad mood lately and I feel awful for people who are around me. I have never been this person, actually being really judgey when people say stuff like this, but I just can't seem to help myself. I say asshole things and act in an asshole fashion while inside I'm screaming "WHY? JUST BE NICE! OR DON'T TALK AT ALL!" I think grief has turned me into an angry depressed asshole and I'm not enjoying it. Also I haven't slept through the night since my mom died and I think it's a huge factor to my angry asshole personality transplant.

Thanks for asking and letting me vent. I do feel a little better getting some of that out.

On top of your very specific grief, there is a persistent background radiation of sheer nasty stupidity in the world that can't be helping. God knows it doesn't help *me*.

I hope you're able to feel better in the future.

I lost my grandad in September and am now in the process of losing my dad to late-stage cancer and just want to say I completely get the angry feels, anon. I'm angry at the world, I'm angry at every person who walks in to my work even when I put "the smile" on, I'm angry at every dumb notification that pings on my phone, I'm angry at my goddamn toast in the morning because it all feels so fucking unfair.

I'm really sorry for your loss, anon. You're not an asshole, you're grieving and it's never pretty, nor should it be. I hope you find a way to cope with it that works for you. x

Thank you. I've never been an angry person before so maybe that's why I'm having such a tough time dealing with it, but good to know someone else gets it. And I'm sorry about your dad and your grandad. I hope you too find a way to deal with all this unfairness and anger and loss. *hugs*
