Specific type of hurt/comfort

Looking for fic focused on the comfort/recovery aspect. I want Character A really fucked up (broken of their former self, feral, under a messed up magical spell, etc) and the other characters rescuing or realizing this and helping them recover. On screen destruction of character not needed, but okay if it's there. I'm mostly here for the recovery and the shock and horror of the loved ones seeing the damage and then buckling down to be supportive and help them recover.

Summary:
Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish is declared K.I.A during a failed recon mission in 2017. His commanding officer, Captain John Price, takes the loss personally but has no other choice then to move on. He creates Task Force 141, keeps the bad guys scared of the dark, and hunts Makarov relentlessly - the man who killed his sergeant all those years ago.

Spectre-07 doesn’t remember anything. Maybe he had once, but years of conditioning have stripped his mind bare, save for the instinct to kill. It's all he knows, all he craves; the blood of his target between his fingers, at the end of his scope or along the blade of his knives. He's a cold-blooded, empty headed machine, and he doesn't hesitate.

Until he does.

^ it's winter soldier esque and does more so focus on recovery until like the later chapters where it sort of goes into some darker stuff (it ends happily don't worry).

I'm trying to figure out what tags I need to look for in my bookmarks to get exactly what you want. I read primarily hurt/comfort (I have Every Tree bookmarked). But I'm not sure how to pull out exactly what you want. You want more comfort than hurt? And do you want the hurt one to be hiding the issues or was that just an example?

Doesn't need to be hiding, that was just an example! And yes to more comfort than hurt! Amd I don't thing I have any real triggers to avoid.

I know, its a very specific type of h/c thats hard to pin down. I appreciate the effort though!

These look perfect, ty! I haven't read any Umbrella Academy fic but did watch the show, and I read that summary and said aloud "oh Klaus no D:" and will definitely be reading that.
