Well no because during the prequels the Republic is not just in power, it is ancient (and corrupt) - I think anon wants to see how the New Republic would avoid the pitfalls of the Old and create something better in the face of adversity, which is a completely different story.

the core dynamics of power are similar enough, especially since the new republic would not in fact suddenly have less corruption and probably has more considering, that i don't think it would make a real difference.
