Pretty sure that's just textual? The fact that King Kong is outgunned against Godzilla is very much a reality of the whole setup IIRC

I recently watched Kong vs Godzilla and jesus there was not enough Godzilla in that, it was basically King Kong 2. I liked King of the Monsters quite a lot but the inclusion of the giant monkey is just so blah to me, he's not cool he's just a big gorilla in a universe that has radioactive lizard monsters like... just leave Kong out and give me Mothra back. The idea that giant monkey is meant to be able to go toe-to-toe with the other monsters is so laughable, like please.

/sigh, oh well.
