First, it's not spreading awareness. Everyone knows that it's going on.

Second, it does absolutely nothing to stop it, and you are still ultimately remaining in your "cozy little escape." You aren't putting any actual skin in the game; you're sitting comfortably behind a screen, doing the absolute bare minimum.

Third, "from the river to the sea" is itself a genocidal message, which most people spreading it do not realize. The vast majority of youth-oriented activity regarding this issue is incredibly uninformed and oriented toward positions that will perpetuate the cycle of violence, not put an end to it.

""From the river to the sea" is a genocidal message" is misinformation, which most people spreading it do not realize.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-11 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
It's not. It's meant exactly that way and any attempts to rebrand it is a classic attempt at whitewashing.

It's not misinformation at all. It's been very explicitly stated that it involves wiping out all Jews.

You don't want it to be that because it would make this whole thing more complicated than you'd like it to be. It would mean that there's no clear good guy to root for; just varying shades of bad.

It's really not misinformation, it's a genocidal chant that US leftist twitter users really don't want to acknowledge because then this issue becomes far more complex than treating it like a sports game. And a lot of Americans can't actually do that, so.

Yeah anon, Hamas literally want to wipe out all Jews, this has been stated by their members numerous times. Now this obviously doesn't mean that Palestinian civilians deserve to be put to death because of Hamas, but trying to whitewash a literal genocidal chant created by a terrorist group is not it.

No, it wasn't created by Hamas, it was a popular phrase made known by the Palestine Liberation Organization in '60s. Hamas even reject the phrase "from the river to the sea" because it means "Palestine and Israel can live together in peace if they can make an effort", when these Islamites want to Israel to be wiped out in total. And is sad because the ones that are paying for that shit are the Palestinian civilians, be pro or against Hamas.

Interestingly enough, people voicing their displeasure with Israel’s actions en masse has done wonders for opening the eyes of western governments who have always been highly supportive of Israel’s many atrocities.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-11 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it has not. Foreign policy is not based on people posting things on social media, or even on people protesting.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-11 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. Posting on twitter does absolutely jack all, but keep telling yourself it does so you can act morally superior to strangers on the internet while doing exactly as little.

Just a note: "To the river to the sea" wasn't created by Hamas (they even reject that phrase), it was a popular phrase made known by the Palestine Liberation Organization in '60s. But we agree that the youth-oriented activist are so incredibly uninformed, I bet they would clap for the Black September in Munich '72, given the chance.

The youths are so uninformed that they're screaming intifada in the streets and beating up Zionist Jews, not realizing that Hamas, PLO, Hezbollah, Fatah, etc. don't give a shit about the Uni kids either and that they're as good as dead right alongside all Jewish people if none of them eventually convert to Islam.

Enjoy your abortions and your blue hair dye while you still got 'em. You're supporting the wrong side.

AYRT: And enjoy being gay or trans in the meantime, they wouldn't care about you neither. Is sad how these youths are just parroting stuff and not seeing the main problem, that isn't solved by deleting Israel or liberating Palestine. Is a problem that was made by the British in the WWI, and unless both countries make sure in vote for a next government that isn't full of shit (mission impossible), the ceasefire is far to end.

Not a single gay or trans person is under the delusion that Hamas cares about them. That has nothing to do with caring about Palestinian civilians, just as many of whom are gay and trans (even if they aren't able to be out about it).
