All I know about this is that it inspired some hot knotting porn, which is good enough for me.

I mean, "official" is not subjective. It can suck rancid donkey balls and still be official, if the creator deems it so.

Like I know all fiction is fake (source: it is fiction) but if we're deciding which fake stories are and aren't real fake stories, we're gonna need a different measure, other than quality.

Whoa, I didn't even know anything was still going on with this fandom in terms of canon/official storylines. I haven't heard anything about the fandom from fandom friends in a long time. I often ignore sequels or continuations that don't live up to my expectations, tbh. If I give it a try and the original works better on its own for me, I think that's fine.

I don't know why you would expect something titled "beyond canon" to be canon, to be fair.

Both this and the epilogues were total garbage imho.

tbh Homestuck was already crawling up it's own asshole towards the end. Going back after the end was only ever going to discover new kinds of shit.

From what I've heard that's less a secret and more, the general consensus. It's like, kinda dubiously canon anyway, I think we can all feel free to ignore it if we want. (That being said, I feel like one of Homestuck's major artistic goals was to troll its own fans and it does feel like a spectacularly successful continuation on that metric.)
