You don't pass the vibe test.

The best part of this secret is that obviously you're too young to have friends who have kids as old as ten. If you were, you would know that no one under 21 uses any of those.

[clears throat] literally.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-21 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Literally being misused has been a thing for like 20+ years, that's not new slang at all, and vibe came in around the 2010's. Kids aren't using these words so your block methods are faulty I'm afraid.

vibe is from the 60s:

Totally bogus and most non-triumphant... - signed, a 40-something.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-21 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
The vibe of this secret is really off tbh.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-21 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Tumblr users are rather notorious for how they purposefully dumb down their own speech. It wasn't ten years old kids that came up with things like blorbo, doggo or similar words you'd easily attribute to a kid. There are other telling signs if you really want to try and clock someone's age but those words in the secret are not it.

*looking at pic*

That is one stunted ten-year-old.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-21 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just like, your opinion, man.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-21 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I get not wanting kids to read your porn, but your basis of judging people's ages is way off and seems out of left field.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-21 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I get wanting to block people that use these words, but claiming it's an age thing is some pretty weak reasoning. I wish OP would be more honest about their snobbery here.

lol good. thanks for making it easier <3

(Anonymous) 2024-02-22 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
All of these are Young Adult-Adult lingo, kids and teen aren't using any of these. Maybe some teens use 'based', but yeah, you can rest easy OP, that is a young adult.

I use the word "literally" sometimes, and I am closer to death than being 10. Vibe is also a common word that has been in use since the 1940s. So imo your judgement is way off.

(Anonymous) 2024-02-22 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
That seems a bit silly. People of all ages engage with modern slang.

But also, "literally" and "???" have been used for...a while. Hell, my best friend in high school in the late '90s was fond of "literally." There's a good possibility you've decided that your smut is inappropriate for people in their late 30s and early 40s (many of whom, it should be said, may have kids, and so have certainly had sex).

I don't know if three question marks are a specific thing, but repeated excessive punctuation is frequently used by both Facebook moms and queer millennials (many of which are approaching their 40s now), so... weird choice but OK

???

(Anonymous) 2024-02-22 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
I still use slang from the late 90s on the reg. I use new slang as well. Mostly because I pick up habits, etc from others. A lot of times it's not intentional, I am just someone who repeats.

I need to do something repeatedly to get it. If something happens a lot I will likely repeat it (IE. my mom keeps saying "damn" every time she's frustrated, I will start saying "damn").

I say/use "literally" a lot.
Most often lately "literally, what the fuck?!"/"literally, what was the point?"

(Anonymous) 2024-02-22 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)

see i assume the only people who care about 100% formal grammar all the time regardless of context are kids still suffering through constant corrections in their grammar classes

everyone else knows that code switching exists (even if they don't know to call it that)

Do as you wish, of course, but the people I know who use those words are all adults.(Granted one of them only turned 18 last September, but the others are in their 20s.)
