Do you pronounce it "aunt" or "aunt"?

Someone just sent me this text and I went to type out "aunt" and then started laughing. Took a second for my brain to catch up there.

I go back and forth, but it's usually "aunt."

Both. I was taught that my dad’s sisters are Ant J and Ant J so I call them that but they are my aunts.

Growing up the only way I heard it pronounced "ant" was on TV so I genuinely thought they were two different words spelled differently that meant the same thing. It wasn't until adulthood that I saw it in a subtitle and thought "oh how silly they got it wrong....waitaminute."

Aunt when I'm using it by itself, ant when I'm addressing one of my aunts as Aunt or Auntie (then it sounds like anti, haha) So-and-so.

Did you ever come across "read" in something and then you had to go back and read it again because what you'd just read made no sense?
