That’s really weird because when this all happened, one of the top google results was to the thread on the reylo subreddit and everyone was thrashing her and talking about how many from the fandom got trad publishing deals and turned psycho.

Exactly! I don't understand how the poster could have missed that fact that Cait Corrain was a BNF in the Reylo fandom: even if they are a casual Reylo, they probably read her fics.

It goes beyond No True Scotman, they actively denying she had any ties with the Reylo community.

The Reylo subreddit has a prolific user who holds a grudge against fanfic authors who publish (and a special hatred for Thea Guanzon for "plagiarizing" from the EU).
