The same thing happened to me. I seriously started to lose interest after Doakes died and I wonder if the series is just not as fun without him.

Oh man, Merlin is the reason why I fell in love with Anthony Head. He's just so freaking sexy and subtle and slightly sociopathic as Uther and I just could not resist his... er... beastly charm? I mean, I know that Uther was originally painted as slightly evil, but he always had his well-intentioned reasons, even in the beginning, and somehow ASH's performance just gave the character so many beautiful layers that made the character ridiculously complicated and morally ambiguous, and he distracted me from the epic boylove of Arthur/Merlin to the point where I pretty much forgot about them. And then I watched Buffy and Repo! and I fell even more in love. Gah, he's so gorgeous. *dreamy sigh*

I agree. Honestly I never really felt anything for the character of Uther Pendragon before Merlin but now every time they threaten his life on the show my inner monologue freaks out, "Nooo! Don't kill Uther!! AH's performance adds so much to the show!!!"

I loved AH before Merlin though since I'm an old school Buffy fan. And oh god Repo! is the most addicting soundtrack every because I just love the way Head sings. He's so multi-talented .*_*

Ahahaha, I am such a dork that I actually downloaded his Music for Elevators album, and gosh, it's such a painful electronic-jazz assault on my ears, and yet I've listened to it repeatedly because his voice does pleasant things to me. Oh, I love him. Even when he makes freaky music.

Oh I downloaded it too :D It's normally not my type of music but like you said- his voice. That's why I love the Repo! soundtrack though because it's more per my music taste. I also enjoyed his solo in the Buffy musical. I wish I could track down more of him singing Rocky Horror, because he was in the London revival and I just can't get enough of his voice.

I hope you don't mind if I friend you btw, because you're fun to talk to.
