I've already pretty much lost one friend over this series. When I started getting irritated at them for their insistence, they started throwing half-spoilers at me with the whole "doesn't it sound awesome now? huh huh huh??" attitude. It bothers me when my list goes "the art is ugly as fuck, I don't like the genre, I'm not going to change my computer's language, I don't like the characters, I don't like VNs, your behavior is giving me hype aversion, etc. etc." and people still won't shut up. By now there is nothing the series could ever do that would redeem it for me.

And yeah, sorry to rant-rage at you, but as is very very obvious, I am very very bitter.

I think the issue is that your list doesn't sound all that different from most people's before they started it. To be honest, it took me forever to get past the first four hours or so, and the only reason I did was because people wouldn't shut up about how awesome it was and I wanted to prove that it was as terrible as I said, in every respect.

Mmmm, delicious crow is delicious.

But people should know when to back off. It's not worth losing a friend over, and it's not perfection incarnate.
