Hm. Interesting. I was curious to see if exactly this would happen. Your powers for missing metaphor are astonishing. I can also tell that a great deal of you are barely old enough to drink because of how insignificant the reference was to any of you.

So, the people of FandomSecrets love to sit in the grandstand for psycho-emotional fandrama between anonymous people they've never met -- but the second somebody shows a cheerful willingness to give the verbal version of a swift, honest belt to the jowl you go all "literal" on us? Nice to know you favor mindfuck over an honest throwdown. Adorable.

Believe me when I say that I would take this person down a notch if we ever met. But they would have to actually get off Google for that to happen. Therefore, creativity is my outlet until this great big elephant in the room finds the wherewithall to seek out daylight.

You are all very cute <3

Believe me when I say that I would take this person down a notch if we ever met.

If you had anywhere near the spine to do anything remotely of the sort, you'd have sent this message directly to them. I scoff at your false, empty bravado, coward.

Not the OP, but you fail to realize the significance of the statement. The point would be to confront this BNF IN PERSON if the BNF actually left their mother's basement. Sending hate mail is not only mean but also stupid, so I have to assume that you like to hide behind a computer screen as well.

I do not intend this to be mean to you, but you have no concept of FS, as you continue to prove each time you respond to a secret. Please stop making yourself look worse.

LOL, I'm not even old enough to drink at all, but out of all of us I'm probably the only one who's met Dan Rather. More than once. I'm not entirely sure he'd appreciate being drawn into your petty Internet drama.

Also, yes there is a difference between online arguments and physical threats, wherewithal only has one 'l,' and if you're going to attempt to be condescending, you might want to edit your writing to a rather less vivid shade of lilac.

Not the OP - LOLOLOLOL The irony of this is that you're attempting to be condescending as well. You don't know the situation. If you did, I doubt you'd defend this person. But seeing as you're quite young, perhaps you've not the experience to know better?

Tip for the future: name-dropping is always frowned upon. Maybe Dan Rather wouldn't want to be part of this, but the fact that you just HAD to tell the rest of us "oh, well, I know him!" just takes all of the potential strength out of your argument.

No, sweetie, I'm not attempting to be condescending, I'm succeeding.

And yes, name-dropping is, in the rules of formal debate, frowned upon as irrelevant to the merits of the argument (as is claiming your opponent is too young to know anything.) Honestly, yeah, I'm bragging, and also I just found it funny that the OP, whose pretension apparently knows no bounds*, chose a reporter who's a little sensitive about anonymous smears to...make an anonymous smear.

*an affliction which seems to be common to your shared fandom, mm? Want to let me know so I can judge "the situation" on my own merits, and thereafter avoid it at all costs?

I don't understand why you made a secret and then made fun of everyone for not understanding what you were talking about. I don't personally see what Dan's weirdo assault on the street has to do with some BNF who spends too much time on google? What does doing endless searches have to do with being a BNF? Why would someone in a fandom be talking to media reporters?

Jesus, like, don't be condescending just because no one immediately knows which fandom or fandomer you're talking about. We all have our little spaces we hang out in. I get your reference to Dan Rather, but apparently all you meant is that you'd assault them? Or that they think they're Dan? Wasn't the assault back when he was wearing sweaters and signing off with "Courage"?

See, when you want people to understand your metaphor, you actually have to mean all the things in the metaphor, or people go running down rabbit holes trying to figure out what the hell you meant. Then you get to come in all sage and condescending and make fun of them. I'll be 40 in three weeks. I remember Dan getting assaulted, and the REM song that was written after that. I still have no fucking idea what the hell you're talking about, or what any of it has to do with google or being a BNF or even vaguely what fandom you mean.
