Based on 3

What do you wish had been more commercially successful?

I liked Dial of Destiny, I wish it had done better. Not so much for a sequel, but just so they end it on a high.

There are so many horror movies that I wish more popular. Not for sequels but to maybe revive the genre. Like Pontypool or His House.

Also the video game Glitch. I think I'm the only person who ever thinks about that wonderful sidescrolling MMO. It was so relaxing.

Galavant. I'm shocked it lasted as long as it did, but I wish it had been more popular at the time.

Guild Wars. It was pretty successful, but it's not the type of successful where you mention the game and you have a majority chance of people knowing what you're talking about or becoming mainstream the way some games do. But it was such a unique, beautiful, fun game with so much content. I'm sad it never really took off. I still play it occasionally and I think it totally holds up, but I am obviously biased.

I agree with the secret. Dungeons and Dragons was such a good movie. I'd also say the Warcraft movie. Not quite as good, but still fun.

On the TV side, Galavant and Legend of the Seeker.

Boardwalk Empire deserved the fanatical following it didn't get and a lot of other TV shows did.

Weekend Plans?

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2024-03-02 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
What is everyone doing this weekend?

Same ol', same ol' for me! Phasmaphobia, Overwatch, and crocheting. I made a little mitten for my bear but think I did it wrong (it somehow ended inside out). So going to try again. If I have enough yarn, I'll make a third.

My husband has agreed to help me with some photo projects. Now to not get hot on while we're shooting....

I've got the full weekend off this week but I'm mostly going to be recovering from a sinus infection I picked up the friday before. I'm out of the actively bad stage and am waiting for my sinuses to clear so I can breathe properly and smell/taste things again for more than 5 mins after blowing my nose.

Brunch with some friends (or rather, people that might become friends but for right now it's just a group of people that have met up a few times?) on Saturday, and then hoping to do some spring cleaning on Sunday.

Well, I was supposed to be going to an all day conference thing tomorrow. But I think I'm going to bow out. Day 3 of a bad migraine.

Probably lots of sleep. Watching some of the new live-action ATLA and maybe the Dune and Children of Dune miniseries.

My partner and I are picking up the plants we bought at the native plant sale a few months ago! So getting them in some dirt tomorrow morning and tomorrow afternoon we're going to play an board game called Elder Sign. It's suppose to be quite gray and wet tomorrow so coming in from yard work to get cozy to play a spooky board game sounds really nice. :)

On Sunday we're gonna get coffee and do creativity sprints with a friend! And between all this, I'm gonna be play Baldur's Gate 3, because my niece bought it for me. :D

One of my best friend's daughter's first birthday party.

Shopping for a new car...someone hit mine while it was parked & drove off last weekend, so my already-totaled car is now completely undrivable.

Working on a group project for my course.

Busy weekend.

I got around to watching The Marvels today

(Anonymous) 2024-03-02 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
and that was just a really fun movie! I don't know what people are talking about, it being a flop or a failure. I absolutely loved that Kamala's family was in it! I loved them in Ms Marvel. Idk I just thought the movie was what movies should be, which is fun.

I watched it last night! I haven't even seen Ms Marvel, but Kamala was my favorite in the movie. What a charming character/actress.

And the Flerkens!

1899 (I don't think it completely bombed. It was in the Top10 for quite some time. Just clearly not successful enough for its budget).

I just want to KNOW. I wish they'd at least gotten a wrap-up movie to TELL US THINGS.

Related sidenote: I know why they do it (rights, trying to shop their stuff to other networks and what have you), but I really really hate it when creators go: "Well, it's in the hands of the fans now. Be creative! We won't ever tell you how we would have (probably) finished the story!"

That last Chris Pine Stark Trek movie. I really wish we'd gotten at least one more.

Shows worth rewatching

(Anonymous) 2024-03-02 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
The XFiles secrets and now the Torchwood secret got me thinking. XFiles has definitely been worth revisiting, if only for 'favorite' episodes. I'm not sure if Torchwood will hold up to my fun memories though.

What shows do you think would are worth a rewatch for you after many years?
