different anon entirely chiming in to say there could be some russian trolls getting into spaces like that and stirring shit along with the nazi freaks. they're all about sewing even more chaos, confusion and polarization while drawing out the worst in people.

But how is anyone supposed to know the difference? Nazis and the alt-Right have used similar tactics to gain influence in Terf movements (I AM NOT SAYING PRO-PALESTIAN ADVOCACY IS THE SAME AS BEING A TERF, IT'S NOT! Sorry for shouting, but I need to make myself clear). So I think it's naive to discount the possibility they aren't doing the same to infiltrate pro-Palestian movements.

DA

genuinely curious here. What do you mean when you say that they used similar tactics to infiltrate the terf movement?
I think I kind of get it, but I'm not entirely sure...

You can infiltrate just about any movement if you learn their lingo and say you agree with them about a few of the things they find most important.

Sure, but I don't get how the terf and pro Palestina are being boycotted in the same way. I think I just need more "practical" example of the rethoric they use...
But don't worry. I will research it by myself when I have time. This is interesting.

DA.

I'd say it’s about finding a common ground point to get a foot in the door. Straight antisemitism is generally frowned upon, but here's a movement that's opposing Israel, so an antisemite can join them in the hopes of influencing the movement towards antisemitism, or at the very least finding people within the group who were already secretly antisemitic.

With terfs they lead with the anti-trans stuff and try to move toward homophobia, misogyny and reinforcement of gender norms. The tactic is similar, though the causes aren't.

These videos explain what I mean in more depth:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBy93QX7ysE&t=3565s (longer vid)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou_xvXJJk7k&t=11s (shorter vid)

Both are great watches but rough to sit through due to the naked bigotry towards trans persons. They taught me more about terfs and how they operate than I ever wanted to learn.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! I will watch them tomorrow.

You're welcome. I want to warn you again the anti-trans sentiment discussed can be tough to watch. One woman who features prominently in both videos was especially vile.

Take care.
