Ugh I get the frustration. My dad is very obviously hard of hearing but refuses to admit it. It's even worse because he also simply doesn't listen in addition to not being able to hear stuff so conversations with him are super annoying, especially because he constantly accuses my mother and me of intentionally mumbling whenever he doesn't understand us. I'm also pretty glad I live with my parents because he's downright gaslighting my mother about how she never told him something she clearly did but he just didn't hear it. So because I'm present during a lot of their conversations I can back my mother up, not that he believes either of us.
I don't even expect him to get hearing aids, I just want him to admit that he doesn't hear very well anymore.
