Sorry to hear that reading a trigger warning ruined the book for you. Maybe we should precede any trigger warnings with "trigger warning: trigger warnings" so that you know to avoid reading them in the future.

Meh, any author can warn for whatever they want on their story, warranted or not.

Beyond that, drawing any sweeping conclusions as to whether "society" has gone too far with content-warnings based on one book/author/warning you thought erred too far on the side of caution is pretty obvious troll bait.

If it's really just haters, I agree. I decided I'd had my fill of the MCU twelve years ago, and haven't spared it any thought since. Not complaining is super easy when you do not care.

But if one does actually care about a franchise, there can be such a thing as too much content. It becomes expensive to keep track of everything unless you turn to piracy, and if you have to watch a show/movie about characters you don’t like just to understand what's happening with the ones you're actually interested in, I'd say you're allowed to complain.
