They look the same to me.

Not in the fandom, what’s wrong with the new model? The hair looks a bit less realistic, but I can’t see much of a difference otherwise.

I'm pretty sure the one on the right is from Advent Children - a movie. Can't find the exact shot, but there are several lit similarly, and the hair texture looks the same.

But, yeah...a movie, or even a pre-reendered cutscene, can afford to have more detailed hair than an in-game model.

Yeah, it's from the scene where he and Cloud are talking right after he rescued Cloud. That whole scene is lit like that, so all of the characters involved look extremely washed-out.

The only difference I can see is that right-Vincent is much, much paler but that's clearly due to the lighting as the background is almost stark white which is washing everything out. Unless there are other screenshots that make these two look vastly different they look the same model-wise to me.

THOSE ARE BOTH "NEW" AHHHHHHHH

GOD I MISS FINAL FANTASY VII

Does the right one count as "old model" when it's Advent Children Vincent and not like... original FF7 Vincent?

I think new Vincent looks fine, though the hair is a bit... weirdly 8-bit with next-gen graphics which is weird to me lol.

I feel it looks more like he's been in a coffin for 20+ years.

I mean, same issue as with FFXVI, the landscapes are gorgeous but the character models are weirdly dated for a next gen game. Theyre not BAD but they definitely don't look like something that used the full potential.

if you’re going to bitch about the models at least pick the old polygons and not something from the movie

(Anonymous) 2024-03-07 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
The movie, mind, that a good portion of the fandom despises.

(Anonymous) 2024-03-07 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
a stupid portion
nayrt

The movie is the pick of VV design and was 10+ years ago so it's a fare standard.

As a sertified Vincent Valentine simp that started simping from watching FF AC that I randomly bought a DVD of in the airport all these years ago... I gotta say that the design on the left is the same as Dirge of Cerberus game. Which was out a long time ago and wasn't an AAA... So not that good.
Anyway, you can just pirate the game and see if you like it enough to pay for it. I think Cloud finds the coffin somewhere in the middle of the game and there are some fun interactions between Cid and Vincent. Idk, I haven't played ff7.
